  • A neat, clean museum. A spacious Setup. A museum where you can spend hours. There are lots of things to see. First of all, an overview of boats and shipping. But also silver, ice skating, local products, utensils ... For children there is a fun treasure hunt. Audio tour available. Currently the temporary exhibition: I wish I was two dogs.

  • Just I was becoming bored by row after row of ship models in glass cases, in the upstairs section (don't worry, there's an elevator), dedicated to ice skating the museum came to life. I won't say that...  more »
  • The museum brings the story of Sneek's history and marine agriculture. A very nice experience, and for boat / ship model fans a must visit recommend

  • Lots and lots of boat models. Comprehensive collection. No English signage.
  • An interesting museum, especially (obviously) of you're interested in ships and/or the nautic world. The museum is concentrated on traditional Frysian ships. It's also much bigger then I expected it to be. The service is splendid. They warmed my formula for my baby. And the first cup of tea/coffee is free of charge in the small restaurant. They don't sell lunch, but the museum is located right in the centre of Sneek. The museum is wheelchair / pram accessible. There's also a wonderful, spacious section for children. They will have a blast trying things out and learning at the same time. I will return here when my kid is old enough.
  • Excellent museum, well worth a visit.
  • Something with boats

  • Nice museum with many models of boats on scale. Personally if I had expected more of sailor, for example people or movies that show how ships are or were built and rigs and sails.
