  • Visit the museum today. Very nice. Friendly reception, first cup of coffee or tea is free. There are/are lots of beautiful stuff. Very nice share for children. Especially the ijszaal about the elfstedentocht was super. Part of the museum was beautiful in Christmas spirit

  • The advantage t.o.v. many other museums is that this museum is open on Monday and not pressure. We were surprised at the huge offer that exhibited State in 34 rooms and a good insight in the early life of Frisian shipping. But also there are period rooms furnished and info on the elfstedentocht. You can, if you want to stay for hours, the information that is given is clear and you feel very at ease. We were offered free coffee and we were all in a museum card holders inside. For children there is a separate area where on educational and playful way through shipping by for example rope knots. The jackets you can get lost in lockers

  • This is a fun museum for an hour, a must on the route of the elfstedentocht: you will find nice style rooms, many ships of course, but also a Hall about skating, Olympic medals and the elfstedentocht. From november in Christmas spirit, very attractive! Museum card is valid with free Cup of coffee/tea/lemonade. Parking is available in front of the door and nearby is the famous water gate of Sneek.

  • Lots and lots of boat models. Comprehensive collection. No English signage.
  • An interesting museum, especially (obviously) of you're interested in ships and/or the nautic world. The museum is concentrated on traditional Frysian ships. It's also much bigger then I expected it to be. The service is splendid. They warmed my formula for my baby. And the first cup of tea/coffee is free of charge in the small restaurant. They don't sell lunch, but the museum is located right in the centre of Sneek. The museum is wheelchair / pram accessible. There's also a wonderful, spacious section for children. They will have a blast trying things out and learning at the same time. I will return here when my kid is old enough.
  • Excellent museum, well worth a visit.
  • Something with boats

  • Nice museum with many models of boats on scale. Personally if I had expected more of sailor, for example people or movies that show how ships are or were built and rigs and sails.
