I wouldn't normally dare take my young boys to an art museum but I thought that it would be nice to visit something for me on holidays, for a change! The museum is a great size, you could spend all da...  more »

The Museum is located next to a park that allows a walk with beautiful views of the landscape. Museum organized with restaurant, and shop for purchases. The view, spacious lounges, offers a path that starts from the European and Dutch art of the Middle Ages until modern artists. Path to taste with calm. Nursing chairs are provided.

Always worth a visit, but no real wow factor in terms of work shown. A lot of variety and fun for all ages. The museum consists of several floors. There is a lift available. (the trap is very beautiful) The walking route we found because of unclear passages here and there with a rope dropped off. The restaurant looked spacious and cozy. The toilets are divided over the building and sufficiently present.

Such a complete museum! From historic pieces to the most contemporary! It truly was a joy to go through all those different rooms! And the self service coat check is so cool!!!!

Very good collection. I like also the design collection. The collection is not something most famous, but it shows the development of certain design, e.g. table lamp. Even the design of the wardrobe is so thoughtful. It's also a piece of art.

The museum is definitely worth a visit if you like art and are in town. But I am giving three stars because I think some other reviews are a bit misleading: this museum is not exactly overwhelming in quantity or in relative quality compared to other major museums in Amsterdam, Antwerp or Kroller-Muller, especially for the price of 15 euros!! I particularly like Gothic-Renaissance so enjoyed seeing the one by Van Eyck, the Hell/Flood by Bosch etc. But disappointingly the famous ones "Saint Christopher", "Peddler" by Bosch, "Babel tower" by Bruegel were all missing when I visited. (added: later I learned that these three are on a tour exhibit in Japan this year. )

The new permanent galleries are beaaautiful! Go here early in the morning when it is still quiet and wander around in the beautifully lit rooms with fantastic colours and art.

Very good museum for modern art. They also have a nice collection of more traditional paintings.
