  • This is a little visited by foreign tourists and perhaps because of it worth a detour for a quick visit. The castle is very well preserved as well as the small houses just outside. The tour costs € 13.50 for adults. The whole course has English translations (in Italian there is nothing) then there are big problems in understanding the history of the place. The whole place seems designed for families with children. Remember that the site recommend to close the mirrors of the car when parking because some birds break them if you see reflections.

  • Location is special, history, the soldiers also houses are fun and there is a clear effort to make interesting for the children (ice rink), nevertheless, the Castle falls (from within)! many large and relatively empty spaces where stories are told, but the history of the Castle wants to come forward. Decor is downright sober.

  • Our visit was very successful. It is a beautiful lock with an interesting history. The stories about the origins of the lock and about Hugo Grotius were told us very visual and compelling.
