  • The museum is housed in four caissons used at the close of the last tide way on 6 november 1953. Many authentic (usage) memories of that time are brought together. These objects range from technical marvels, a home-built transmitter, to pure human suffering in the form of a doll and toys of children who died. In dozens of folders is the disaster story per city or region. The artwork 1835 + 1 is a technical and creative masterpiece, in which the names of the victims pass into water that against the slope g. Fantastic! It is a museum for young and old, with the necessary interactive possibilities. Unfortunately, there is relatively little moving image material.

  • At the Delta works in 1953 were four caissons used to keep the water from Zeeland and nowadays do this glorified concrete bunkers as the flood museum. This museum houses a lot of information about this infamous event that Netherlands in 1953 for the rest of its existence. The museum opens with an eye-catching mini-movie about the events and along the way you get to see more information about all kinds of topics. The museum reflects on the rescue works, but also at the impact that this natural disaster has had on the Dutch population. A nice tribute can be found in the second caisson where an area is classified that is a tribute to the victims. Very serene, but also very impressive. The only minus I can think of is the size of the museum, which with four caissons is not very large. If you take the time, you have such a one and a half to even spend two hours in the museum, but ongeduldigere souls can likewise in less than half an hour by the museum dusting.
