  • It's a nice Protestant Church (free access). Sober, but plenty to see. Good self in to walk around with the directory/map. Nice volunteers who love to help you and to assist you. Climb the tower is very nice (€ 2.50), although tight with oncoming traffic. Gives a beautiful view over the city and surrounding area, on a clear day. If the cloudy and we could still see much.

  • According to the legend, the Tower of the Sint Jans Church are striking red color due to the blood of 500 cattle. If this is true remains to be seen, but what is striking is the color for sure. The legend comes about because Marl, of which 100% is made, not the tower can be dyed. For those interested you can climb the Tower from where you have a beautiful view over the city of Maastricht.
