  • The Oldest Basilica Of The Netherlands-Basilica Of Saint Servatius. The first building on this site there are 384 year right over the grave of St. Servatius. The current building is the fourth and ended the year 1039. You can enter the Church through the Northern portal. It was built in 1475 year. Now here you can see the figures of Christ, Saint Peter and Saint Servatius. In arhivol'te-12 Apostles. To the right and to the left of the entrance-4 Prophet. At the entrance to the fountain with the statue of Saint Servatius with staff and key. The most interesting inside is a treasure of the Church. Here the main exhibits is a gold-plated bust dating from the year 1580, Crosby, pectoral cross, seal, Cup, chalice with a portable altar. However, the most valuable exhibit-12th-century reliquary, which stores part of the relics of Saint Servatius and the remains of the other bishops of Maastricht. Before you exit the Church worth seeing at the South Portal is a work of art 12-13 century. The sculptors portrayed scenes from the life of the Virgin Mary. Holy Servatij himself is on the right. He is depicted traditionally with a key and a stick.

  • Basilic st Servais is into a great place in Maastricht where each year Andre Rieu and his team make beautiful show
  • The tower is accessible, providing you with a magnificent view over Maastricht
  • Beautiful place in the center of the city !
  • It's just another church with modern design inside and 4 euro for entrance. I'm a bit disappointed. They made a modern church in ancient walls. Ok, but what are 4 euro for?
  • It is a Catholic church with profound feelings for those who are in deep religious spiritual concentration.
