  • As a friend and fan of the Museum Boerhaave I want to know that this museum after a thorough renovation, with many technical improvements will be open again in november! Again today under the impression of anything by the Director and his team is done and what us as friends.

  • Here is a tour that will delight lovers of the Protestant Reformation and the science of the xvi th s: you go discover here an anatomical theater which is a reenactment size of those that were found during the period of the reformation in LEIDEN is a boon because they were reserved for the only introduced (at Bologna) and nobody could access if it was part of a circle closed from the AUI medicine! (there were friezes decorated with bucranes or "emaciated oxen heads" because historically it was a slaughter of cattle and this initiatory society of the first forensic doctors was a closed circle called the SOCIETY OF THE BUCRANE or FOG because it must be him remind légale(:l'autopsie sur deles de cadavres était formellement INTERDITE par l'Eglise de Rome et seule les citées en schisme avec Rome (comme à Leiden) medicine could claim)) BOLOGNA was a city under the jurisdiction of VENICE which was not subservient to Rome at the time!)

  • Note: Museum is closed for major renovation until early 2017. Information is on their website, but not on Google Maps. Go to their website to see when they will be reopening. It is a very good museum when it is open to the public.
  • If you have any interest in science this place is a must visit when you are in Leiden. The permanent collection includes a replica of an anatomical theatre that explains the history of science as well. Also at what other museum can you see three actual Nobel prizes and the equipment the scientists worked with when they won it.
  • A lot of science shown in a neat way
  • For the love of science. Located in the town in which modern science started.
  • Museum Boarhaave is quite an interesting museum for those with technical and medical interests. They have a large collection of instruments and some instruments can be experimented with, which makes it more interesting for kids. I would not recommend it to those faint of heart since they do have real skeletons, babies in formaldehyde and such
