Molenmuseum de Valk, Leiden

(4.4/5 based on 320+ reviews on the web)
Visit one of the most symbolic sites in the city at Molenmuseum de Valk, a functioning windmill dating from 1785 and a municipal museum. The museum itself displays items used in the milling process, such as tools and books. Visit the first floor to see the only remaining miller's residence in Holland, where many of the original furnishings remain. Stop to watch the video and learn about the history of grain grinding, then continue upward to the lofts to see more. In addition to learning about the history, you can also buy whole wheat flour ground on site. • Without hope because it was cukenkov the way back stop at Leiden and at the Museum card, walked in. Wider than thought in the windmills are a good idea is interesting. Views from the landing is difficult, such as a ladder to climb, climbed was also nice and more. We recommend will walk from the train station to come to Leiden.

  • Very fun experience in a tall windmill. Detailed description in multiple languages.
  • If you are mechanically minded or just like a little history it's likely going to be an enjoyable experience. At 4 euro it's hard to turn down the opportunity.
  • Informative and educational windmill tour, steep ladder-stairs climb to the top, great views of the city
  • Loved this small museum. It's free on saturdays and totally worth visiting if you ever come to Leiden.
  • Great way to spend an afternoon. Especially if you are a tourist.
