  • There is much to see from Frisian culture. We went specifically for the Viking Exhibit which was very interesting and we learned a lot! It was laid out beautifully as well. Highly recommend this...

  • The museum is a nice modern new building with lots of open spaces. Everything was clear and nicely layed-out. The expositions didn’t meet my expectations. I experienced both Frisian Resistance Museum and the A La Campagne expostion quite small. I found myself out the door within a hour or so, which is very fast for me.
  • Liked the style of the museum, it’s got a very modern feel. The art was interesting as well. There was an Esher exhibition, which I loved. Unfortunately the tour felt very hasty, and we didn’t really get to appreciate the art enough in my opinion. I liked the black and white room, where everything inside was black, white or some variant of grey. Felt very surreal. This is a COLOUR photo of the room.
  • The permanent exhibition tells about the history of Leeuwarden and Friesland. The temporary now is about wild medieval Friesland. Museum card valid.
  • It’s a nice museum mostly about the history of Friesland, if you want to know more about the Frisian culture I will recommend this museum. The building has nice architecture and please pay attention to the wall behind the reception which is covered by wol by an local artist! The museum is not that big you can visit it in a few hours. In some of the salons they used video projection to create different and special atmosphere which is done successfully!
  • A great museums to learn about Frisian history. Museum is full of historical and cultural artifacts of Friesland. Museum interiors are artistic and too modern.
