Gaiazoo, Kerkrade

(4.5/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
See more than 100 different species of animals and take a stroll through the recreated natural habitats from various parts of the world at Gaiazoo. The zoo's habitats include Europe, tundra, Amazonia, Congo, and Namibia, all housing specific species that are allowed to wander freely just as they would in the wild. The landscaping provides a safe, unobstructed view of the animals from close up. Take time to watch everything from birds of prey, predators, and large herbivores to small and cuddly animals that you can interact with in the petting zoo. Kids can have fun at the zoo's Dino Dome, a large, prehistoric-themed, indoor play area. Because most of the habitats are outdoors, note that some animals may retreat to their shelters and not be visible on rainy days. • We had honestly never heard of the Gaia Zoo. But we were looking for something to do in this neighborhood and came here more or less by accident. In the dead of winter, so we were afraid we would see not many animals in the cold. But that fell perfectly with it. We have some animals even by so close considering that it was almost scary. A beautiful hiking route along beautifully landscaped paths with animal enclosures where really work of the appearance is made. We were fortunate that the gorillas were conducted just when we arrived. You seem to be able to download an app also alerts you if the animals are, but that we had not done. Anyway, we could because of the gorillas really up close in their animals at see, especially the male was impressively large and beautiful to look at. Also at the Lions we had this luck. Scattered around the grounds layers a few lions, but the male had Pontifical compiled for the window where we could see him 10 cm distance. We have excellent entertained us here and many more wonderful animals. Horeca. In short, really fun if you are looking for something a day in this area.

  • A small Zoo, but neat and clean. Not comparable to a Blijdorp or citizens. For the size of the Zoo can I find the price 5 euro too high. In addition, I have missed the signs that there is due to the bird flu yet best a few stay are not accessible. In retrospect, of course, be found on the site but at the time itself there not thought of or seen. I had my visit rather postponed. We have a while behind a tour run and this man told with much love and enthusiasm about the animals. Definitely a plus and if we come back, we are right at the tour.

  • The park is divided into landscapes in which animals are placed out there in the wild live. Do this very natural to me and seems to be very instructive for children.

  • Nice park, nicely layed out and nice atmosphere
  • Nice zoo with many different animals. An experience for young and old!
  • The best zoo in the Netherlands. Gorgeous landscape, designed (making usage of the hills that surround the park) to be akin to the natural habitats of the animals; keeping in mind the animals should be well visible for visitors.
  • Loved how the setting is more like a landscape than a row of cages
  • It was good that animals where close, it was easier walking with kids!
