Efteling, Kaatsheuvel

(4.6/5 based on 3,600+ reviews on the web)
Once a quaint nature park, Efteling has grown to become a large, fantasy theme park. When it opened in 1952 with a playground and fairytale forest, no one could have predicted that it would evolve to be twice the size of the original Disneyland. While the park remains true to its origins by incorporating elements of fairy tales and folklore into its attractions and entertainment, it now has a total of 36 rides, including four water slides. Take your family on a trip through mythical worlds, enjoy the park's renowned greenery and gardens, and share in the excitement of roller coasters and thrill rides. Take a look at our Kaatsheuvel family vacation planner to schedule your visit to Efteling and learn about what else to see and do during your holiday.

  • A free day of school yesterday we were able to enjoy a quiet day in the Efteling theme park. All the time in the attractions to go without long lines, a bite to eat and look around everywhere. Delicious!

  • The theme park ' de Efteling ' for the umpteenth time we have visited with our 4 children, all under 11 years. For our daughter of almost 4 years is the Fata Morgana the most fun attraction. We therefore wanted to end the day. Exactly to 10.18 a.m. door literally on our nose. The worst part is, that if a family for us and we are not. This family ran 5 metres for us. A difference of 5 metres!! Expressed in time: 5 seconds! We have Sir begged for us to pass through, and that he had to do it for our daughter (who was already weeping of sorrow), but to no avail! Mr. indicated that this is the policy of the Efteling. Sad!!

  • Our company team building trip was to the Efteling. Normally not something I like to to in November in Holland (I need warmth) however it was not bad. I'm still not a big fan of these parks so if you ...  more »

  • Very nice theme park. Every ride has its own little theme which makes the park very cosy. There is also a "fairytale forest" specially designed for small children. This, together with easy rides and thrill rides makes this theme park perfect for a family day.
  • Absolutely love the vibe and atmosphere in the Efteling. It is surrounded by beautiful nature, so you get pretty neat views from the top of some attractions. The waiting times might be long (as in any theme park really), but all attractions have a story to tell and aren't your regular rollercoasters. You can try and get on all rollercoasters if you'd like, you could have a stroll through the Sprookjesbos, or maybe take a boat trip through the take.
  • Nice place but FULL of people. I would recommend to prepare in advance where you wanna go because there is a lot of attractions and places to see. I highly recommend Efteling mobile application to get info about attractions, shows and waiting time. And Aquanura is breathtaking. It is the first water show that also use fire I have ever seen.
  • Nice and funny place. Ideal to spend one day with the children. Suggested to come at the opening to enjoy all its areas (it's very big)
  • Awesome themepark with good rollercoasters and excellent theming. A good day out for the whole family, with rides for the little people and the adventures people.
