Once a quaint nature park, Efteling has grown to become a large, fantasy theme park. When it opened in 1952 with a playground and fairytale forest, no one could have predicted that it would evolve to be twice the size of the original Disneyland. While the park remains true to its origins by incorporating elements of fairy tales and folklore into its attractions and entertainment, it now has a total of 36 rides, including four water slides. Take your family on a trip through mythical worlds, enjoy the park's renowned greenery and gardens, and share in the excitement of roller coasters and thrill rides. Take a look at our Kaatsheuvel family vacation planner to schedule your visit to Efteling and learn about what else to see and do during your holiday.

Efteling is the best thema park in the world. Fairy tales are the main thema. Everthing is build and maintaned with care for detail. The atmosphere is graet. It has something for anny age or interest.

Always with a story there and a nice building. Fairytale forest is especially with younger children. The older children go more for the spectacular attractions. Food and drinks are not cheap but that's in all theme parks so. The dog should in a free kennel.show original

Then last year I revisited the day over two days (with own Park Efteling hotel stay) in October, as well as in the June 2016. So far, we had always super days in Efteling! In comparison to other amusement parks with similar quality (in my opinion: Disneyland Europe Park, Phantasialand, PortAventura, Alton Towers, Gardaland or Liseberg) regular park admission € 36.50 is really inexpensive. This can be reduced by a booking in advance on the Internet around € 2; through a get of the cards in the ADAC in NRW even to € 5,. It also comes faster in the Park, because it no longer must be available at the box office! To better assess of this assessment, I am still that we visit several parks in Germany and Europe due to a comic theme park family gene defect (as can be seen above in the collection). Therefore, we have maybe more comparison values as the most occasional visitors. ' De Efteling ' is but a very special park which goes slightly different way than most of its competitors. But piece by piece: * themes * while almost all of the large park competitors with many different issues, there is no such in Efteling. While the Park to better orientation in four "kingdoms" is divided, but rather a great fairy tale theme park. Content go in Efteling therefore back into your own childhood, since all the legends, fairy tales and legends of mankind devoted to this magical place. This only main theme makes for great scenery, a fantastic embedding of the parks in the natural landscape and unique attractions that are well distributed about the exemplarily clean Park. * Attractions * many imaginatively through themed rides and trains are the hallmark of the Park. To highlight undoubtedly are mounted roller coasters "Baron 1898" loving in announcements (freefall coaster), "De Vliegende Hollander" (water roller coaster) and "Joris en de Draak" (duel - wooden roller coaster). They feature all through a special feeling and atmosphere. "Pirana" (white water rafting), absolute main attractions also include "de halve Maen" (pirate ship), "Droomvlucht" (topic drive) and "Python" (looping roller coaster). You - you should definitely not miss if the operating permits. This extensive attraction offer is supplemented by more theme cruises, family coaster, carousels and children rides. In all, Efteling offers many excellent things especially for families and nostalgic. For adrenaline junkies and roller coaster fans, no greater challenges exist in the Park, because the Dutch class is neither particularly high or extreme cars still wild high - / circular rides. But to highlight is that almost all pending applications are pretty, shaded and varied design, so that the wait is pleasantly designed fuller days through beautiful scenes, special insights or small advance shows. * Shows * offers a great, but not entirely sufficient show program for the size of the Park and its traffic while de Efteling. With "Raveleijn" (Fantasy-Stunt Show) Efteling has certainly the most beautiful Open-Air stage far and wide. The show has many great effects, but not quite convinced by the story. Important: For the show you must reserve tickets for one of the ideas in his room or at ATMs on the Esplanade of the show! Also, you get a headset for translation into German, English and French on demand from the staff at the entrance. The second main show is "Aquanura" (water show) on the Lake at the entrance. She is an absolute highlight (especially at dusk or in the dark) and to be missed definitely. This compared with other parks thin main show program is complemented by street cabaret and children's shows in places. * Catering * there are in all areas of the Park delicious snacks and meals. There is something for every budget and taste. Many goodies are available from A-la-carte-restaurants ("Panorama" at the rear Lake or "Pancake House" in Central Park), SB-restaurants with Dutch, Arabic or Italian cuisine to diverse snack points. When compared to other parks we will find the prices perfect order; because so far everything pretty well liked us even more. Compared to other parks and their standard fast food range Efteling sure offers a slightly above-average range. Very positive the friendly and helpful staff in the hospitality industry at all visits so far we noticed. * Hints & tips * at the beautifully decorated entrance there are free Park guides in different languages, you absolutely should insert (on which care flag to mark the language!). From the spacious, natural park-like design of the Efteling, there are many quiet and secluded-looking ways, so that you can quickly lose the orientation. The plan clearly crafted with helpful explanations also available in the souvenir shops, restaurants and snack points gives quickly remedy. There are many places and corners where you can picnic very relaxed, so that everything brought to tables can be eaten and can, if you want to eat cheaper in this way in the Park. There are (from my point of view: fortunately) not fast or quick-pass system, with which you get around the standing. Only two exceptions allow to access the output range attractions: as a wheelchair you can sail a lot more in the Netherlands than in Germany (1); Parents of young children can use the so-called "Babyswitch" (2) to the main attractions. De Efteling really offers exceptional service in many different areas, be it in the shops or on the information. An overview can be found on the Park plan. From the stroller rental on the EC-machine up to lockers you can make disappear all hardships. We have the experience listed above visits, that the Park is really crowded on the weekends. While this only once not striking in the Park due to its vastness or interferes with, waiting time beyond the 60 minutes - even with theme cruises quickly arise to all main attractions. In the summer this is offset on Fridays and Saturdays through a park opening until 23:00. Also a special experience, but not the major remedy against the masses. Who further travels or not on weekdays or outside of school holidays can be, should seriously over a two or three day visit to think. The hotel and the Park of the Park are fantastic and beautiful. In terms of overnight stays, it creates ' de Efteling ' overlooking the competition also loosely to the far and wide best price / performance ratio, what I know. When booking, the park entrance fee is namely automatically for all days from arrival to departure included - and you may half an hour earlier in the Park! Also, as the often-criticized parking fee amounting to € 10,-is eliminated. We have two people in the hotel by 2015 (1 night in a double ROOM with great breakfast, 2 days access to the theme park, 2 days parking) with early booking discount together € 222,50 paid. Our current bookings for September 2017, we have in the newly opening nature hotel (Loonsche country) for 5 adults (circle of friends) a two-part 5-bed room (a room with a double bed, one with a three single beds and shared bathroom - sure for families interesting room concept) collared for € 365,-(1 overnight stay with breakfast, 2 days entrance to the park for everyone and free parking two cars); that makes this experience just € 73,-per person! Unbeatable price! That is why absolute night recommendation... * conclusion * ' de Efteling ' is in our opinion the best Dutch Park. For a comparable leisure you must accept otherwise the way to South Germany (Europa Park), in the French capital (Disneyland of Resort Paris) after Brühl (Phantasialand) on himself. You can feel the attention to detail, which you put into the look and feel of the best fairy tale Park known to me in the entire Park. So, a fascinating experience arises in combination with suitable for family attractions, atmospheric music, good service, quality gastronomy and spectacular shows. The 'Sprookjesbos' (fairytale forest) as the centerpiece of the historic Efteling; is unique and gorgeous worth more than a quiet stroll! Only the quantity of the show offer can keep not quite match that of other parks. Here an addition by a magic show or an imaginative musical would be desirable. In relation to the high number of visitors (approximately 4.5 million annually), there is the Park on some additional main attractions; the day of the visit should be chosen with good calculus! Holland holidaymakers with pronounced adrenaline addiction or thrill-crazed young people on Board was rather recommended Walibi (on Flevoland). All other visitors come in this fairy tale theme park fully at your expense! We like to come again... and again... and again...show original

Unquestionably one of the finest theme parks on the planet. Delightful in part because it's so non-commercial. The focus is on your enjoyment, not trying to hammer you with advertising. A treasure not to be missed if you are anywhere within the Netherlands, Belgium, Northern France, Central-West Germany ... you get the idea. If you love theme parks, immediately add this one to your bucket list.
A delightful theme park with a great blend of thrill rides for the brave and more gentle, entertaining rides for those wanting something more sedate. Great gardens and restaurants.

The cool thing about the Efteling is that every attraction is built around a theme. The environment, story and even the music is created especially for the attraction which even makes queueing up a lot of fun. Tip: download the Efteling app to see real-time queueing times for all rides.
Wonderful park, definitely the best of the Netherlands and maybe even in Europe one of the better theme parks. All the attractions are very well made with lots of details. Fun for all ages as well. Price is pretty fair compared to other similar parks like Disney land for example.
The Efteling is the most beautiful theme park of the Netherlands, if not of Europe. The park offers a wide variety of rides, Rollercoaster and experience for every member of the family. At the heart of the Efteling you can find the fairy tale forest which illustrates fairy tales like no other place can do. One of the highlights of the park is Droomvlucht, a darkride in which you travel through fairy world, definitely worth the wait. The thrill rides can be found in the so called 'Ruigrijk'. They are amazingly decorated around a certain saga. I especially like this part of the park as it offers an experience no other park I have visited has matched. You certainly have to try Baron 1898. Furthermore I love to end a day at the Efteling at the Aquanura fountain show. A astonishing closure!
