Efteling, Kaatsheuvel

(4.6/5 based on 3,600+ reviews on the web)
Once a quaint nature park, Efteling has grown to become a large, fantasy theme park. When it opened in 1952 with a playground and fairytale forest, no one could have predicted that it would evolve to be twice the size of the original Disneyland. While the park remains true to its origins by incorporating elements of fairy tales and folklore into its attractions and entertainment, it now has a total of 36 rides, including four water slides. Take your family on a trip through mythical worlds, enjoy the park's renowned greenery and gardens, and share in the excitement of roller coasters and thrill rides. Take a look at our Kaatsheuvel family vacation planner to schedule your visit to Efteling and learn about what else to see and do during your holiday.

  • Dreamflight, Land of Laughs, Mr Long neck, Diorama supplemented with the white knuckle rides of Python, George & the Dragon and the newish Baron 1898, Efteling for me remains the theme park to beat. I...  more »
  • Last year for the first time, using the AH savings campaign. This was for us the very first experience with the Efteling. The signs to the park we found very clearly stated, what this all was a suit for our hearts. A friendly parking attendant then showed us the place to park. At the entrance you will get an impression of how big it actually is. Pardoes, the upcoming guests, a our fine and inviting feel. Once inside there are various fairy tale characters that you welcome. An employee was kind enough to send us a park map, where we have made good use of that day. The entire day was soon marked out and we could easily find everything back. The diversity of attractions we found very fine. Small and large comes this turn. We were extremely impressed with Dream flight, Carnival Festival, Flying Dutchman, Bobsleigh and Fata Morgana. There is so much to do. We ourselves are outside school holidays, in the postseason, allowing us to have been almost no suffered from long queues. We have a total of max 20 to 30 min in line. We found itself going, after all the stories of friends and family. We are this day with ease through the entire park could also come and ' on time ' home. We have chosen our own food and drinks. Even after all the stories, because it is often told that it was pricey. We found this myself indeed and were glad that we have been able to save a lot of ' extra ' cost these days. After this experience, we are more than sure.. We go in 2017 again!

  • Very nice theme park. Every ride has its own little theme which makes the park very cosy. There is also a "fairytale forest" specially designed for small children. This, together with easy rides and thrill rides makes this theme park perfect for a family day.
  • Absolutely love the vibe and atmosphere in the Efteling. It is surrounded by beautiful nature, so you get pretty neat views from the top of some attractions. The waiting times might be long (as in any theme park really), but all attractions have a story to tell and aren't your regular rollercoasters. You can try and get on all rollercoasters if you'd like, you could have a stroll through the Sprookjesbos, or maybe take a boat trip through the take.
  • Nice place but FULL of people. I would recommend to prepare in advance where you wanna go because there is a lot of attractions and places to see. I highly recommend Efteling mobile application to get info about attractions, shows and waiting time. And Aquanura is breathtaking. It is the first water show that also use fire I have ever seen.
  • Nice and funny place. Ideal to spend one day with the children. Suggested to come at the opening to enjoy all its areas (it's very big)
  • Awesome themepark with good rollercoasters and excellent theming. A good day out for the whole family, with rides for the little people and the adventures people.
