  • Loved it !! All the oh's and ah's when recognising things from years gone by......"my gran used that, I had one if those as a teenager, my dad drove one of them" Such fun. When in (the area of) Hoorn....  more »
  • A great place well worth the 9 euro entry. Make sure you get the language specific audio guide as all explanation signs are in Dutch. Well laid out with an informative guide. Allow about an hour and.....  more »
  • As a millennium kid I went here with my girlfriend, aunt and uncle. For them it was like they were entering houses out of their past. The told us so passionate about it, everything came alive. I...  more »
  • If you are a millennial and you want to take a trip down memory lane, this is the place to go to. You will see your childhood video game console, your parents fridge and your grandparents TV. Like pretty much all Dutch museums that I visited, it is well organized and neat, and the exhibited material is significant. The setting for this museum is also original as it was a prison. Unfortunately what this museum lacks is interaction: if you are taking your kids to show them things they never heard of, you will succeed, but they will quickly be bored. It would be much improved if the visit would become more immersive and not just items on display. Aside the arcade games that you can play with, all other items are just exhibits.
  • We went for the Star Wars Merchandise exhibition and it was incredibly fun!
  • Fun collection of memorabilia of the twentieth century, in particular the scenes of rooms in houses of various decades. From collections of razors over the years to a reconstructed household store, there's a lot of attention to detail, and there's plenty to soak up. Ever wonder how ice boxes worked before electricity became commonplace? What did the first washing machines look like? I didn't get nearly enough time to relish in all the exhibits–I had thought 90 minutes would be enough, but it certainly deserves another visit!
  • Zich a nice little museum with lovely variable exhibitions and a magnificent collection of 20th centurry consumer goods. Offering a synoptic overview to those born in this Millennium of how your parents and grandparents 'survived' in the 20th century. Borrn before? A real down 'Memory Lane' you want to take more than once.
  • Amazing museum. We went to see the Flintstones and Buurman exhibitions. All the old stuff was an extra bonus. Friendly staff, cute little cafe, wheelchairfriendly and beautiful location. Absolutlely worth a visit.
