  • An absolute "must", if you would like to visit even Medemblick and Enkhuizen next to Hoorn. For steampunk-& railway enthusiasts dream. Our excursion began with the historic tram, for approximately 1.5 hours, after Medemblick. On this trip, we drove across above the polders and had plenty to see and photograph. If only the landscape, the platoon commander, the driver, Schiler and stations. Get a little stopover in Twisk, coffee there. In Medemblick arrived, we went immediately to the ship. For about 1.5 hours, we went to Enkhuizen by boat on the IJsselmeer. On board, we enjoyed the sea air, drank beer and a chocomel. Arrived in Enkhuizen, it rained. We were looking for a close located end eatery for lunch. Followed by name we and the train to Hoorn back. It was a long, but a beautiful day. Sun would have been perfect, but we can influence this.

  • A great day out. We started with the steam tram from Hoorn to Medemblik, takes you slowly in an old steam tram from Hoorn to Medemblik. On the way to get other fun passing stations against and stop you on Wognum (this stop was in my opinion not really necessary). The tourist content fell me, despite it being on a Saturday afternoon in August was, I found it not crowded and our tram was not nearly full. Because we had the late tram (11:40), we had no time to explore more to Medemblik, which I actually pity was made because we have seen almost nothing of there now, so I would recommend 9:40 or 10:40 of the tram. The connection of the tram on the boat was perfect. On the boat, a pity that this necessarily eaten within had to because it was nice weather outside. So immediately after lunch on the deck gone, where it really was full. We are at the Zuiderzee museum the boat also gone out and this is a great museum. As a small child I thought it was all great, but now as an adult still. It really feels like you are in an old-fashioned village walk around, even to the extent that the walk in the small houses almost like penetration feels. The volunteers out there in old fashioned clothing walk feel not fake, they are after all also really working. There is much to see and do, making it a pity was that we had only two hours. That is the big disadvantage of the historic triangle: you see a lot, but you have nowhere really time to spacious. Both of Enkhuizen, Hoorn and Medemblik, we haven't seen much of. Still, it's a great recommendation! The amount foreign tourists I found low, which is a pity because I think this is a tourist attraction par excellence, much more enjoyable and more instructive and more characteristically for Netherlands than things like the Keukenhof and Volendam! I was itself with a foreign guest and who loved it.

  • The best museum I ever visited. You can not only see everything, but also try train in action. Works really good in combination with steam boat. This museum you will be stupid not to visit
  • Brilliant. Such a great day out with the kids, and will visit again.
  • A great place to spend a day for adults & especially kids. A stream train ride from Hoorn to Medemblik though lovely flower fields & country side. Then a ride in old ship from Medemblik to Enkhuizen. Best part, it is free for Museum card holders
  • This is rather a steam tram station which I would say. In a small room next to the cashier, there are a few small items to show the history of steam tram in the Netherlands. All the visitors will get on the steam tram in this station(museum??). And the steam tram will travel from Hoorn through Wogum, Twisk, Opperdoes and finally Medemblik. One can choose to return by tram or travel by ship from Medemblik to Enkhuizen. I went by ship and got off in Zuiderzeemuseum. It is one stop before Enkhuizen. It was a sunny and windy day and the sea was pretty and full of sailing boats. One should come back to travel by steam tram again.
  • It's awesome, both for kids and adults, you can have a steam train ride, then go by ship and go back by train. True Adventure for half a day, and museum card friendly. 5 stars.
