  • Don't expect style rooms, pomp and circumstance, but a cool Castle where you can wander around. There will be no one has lived since the 17th century and it is also hardly cultivated. Therefore, it really still the medieval atmosphere. For lovers of centuries-old stone and oak wood is the enjoy. It's not big, but there is plenty to see and do. A for NL unique indoor weather gang, Tower rooms, halls, kitchens, basement Dungeon and spiral staircases. And of course a moat. Because we visited in Hernen middle school holidays, was busy with children, while we like to look around quietly. But for those children is super exciting and fun, some really old Castle. You get a "talking lamp" along for the stories. That can also handle children. It is a child-friendly Castle. The Interior is very sober, but because of it so good fitting into the atmosphere.

  • If wen event is then there is always more effort into a location. And that was good to see. What was the reason of the event I don't remember but it was successful. There were open doors that would otherwise remain closed. Beautiful tour resulting in bats POO on my shoulders, delicious. Fun crafts and good atmosphere. Delicious sandwich big afterwards. For the little kids there seems to be a special tour, but also good because then it remains interesting. The Guide also attracted a number of issues in doubt, delicious. Because the bright minds have all too often wrong. Well worth the effort. Free with museum map and otherwise, it's well worth the €8.50 I think.

  • Castle Hernen has pretty much just stones and stones. In other words, it is an architectural nice building, but the Interior is very very bald. The tour is ' self control ' with a lantern that gets a lot of points explanation about the castle there are few ' stuff ' such as furniture or paintings etc. There are some stairs at, where it very very careful. There would be a safety rope along the wall. "There is thought about it," said an employee of the castle to the Gelders Landscape & Kasteelen belongs (GLK). The GLK gives a special year pass that about 7 castles/houses can be visited at a reduced rate. Recently, the GLK-castles/houses also with the Museum map (free). Recently,

  • Recommended ! You get a "talking lantern" which guides you around the Castle in an informal way. Information is useful, not too long but gives you some insight in how people lived there in the 16th century. Friendly staff as well.
  • Nice tour around the cadtle. Ask about the talking lanterns at the entry
  • The reception was very friendly and the castle is beautifully kept.
  • Very pretty and quaint wedding venue. The nicest staff also!
