Grote Markt, Haarlem
(4.7/5 based on 650+ reviews on the web)
Grote Markt, Haarlem's main square, is lined with famous buildings, as well as bars and restaurants. City hall, Vleeshal, Hoofdwacht, and Grote Kerk all border the square. See Hoofdwacht, which was built in the 13th century and is generally regarded as the oldest building in Haarlem. If you're able to visit on a weekend, enjoy the busy market that takes over with vendors selling a range of goods. • We took the train down from Amsterdam Centraal to Haarlem, quick journey of 20 minutes. The market is just south of the station and less than 10 minutes walk away. Follow the crowds! We were there abo...  more »
  • Beautiful historic square, Central in the beautiful city of Haarlem. I saw depicted in a painting of the ' 600 and the similarities were noticeable, except of course for the recent retail establishments. To visit, like the whole town, especially during the second weekend of December when the square and adjacent streets are filled on the occasion of the Christmas markets. Gorgeous, something incomparable. Not all markets of Trentino summed the reach, the city was full of people and find place in hotel was a business. Nice neighborhood bar, where people sit with cold why microwaved CNG and mushrooms dalel covers the bars themselves provide.
