  • After so many stripped-bare church interiors, Saint Bavo was a wonderful surprise: not austere, cold, or bare, and graced with a glorious organ once played by Mozart.
  • Haarlem has 2 churches named after St Bavo, this is the Roman Catholic Cathedral. The church stands just outside the Centre of the city itself and dates back to the early 1900 's. An imposing building from outside and also inside there is plenty to see. The Cathedral has recently been restored.

  • The entirely renovated St. Bavo is without exaggeration one of the most beautiful churches of Europe. This late 19th century building allows you do the mouth opening of surprise about the extraordinary architecture and craftsmanship of the builders. Try to hook into a tour because there is so much what you else is missing. The absolute highlight of a visit to Haarlem!

  • Beautiful catholic cathedral built between 1895 and 1930 in neo-gothic and neo-roman style, according to a design by architect Jos Cuypers. Try to visit the church, and even better, try to get into one of the sparse tours of the church and its towers and cupola, that are organised by the church itself (keep an eye on the website).
  • Magnificent building, historical feeling
  • Beautiful building.
  • Response to Rob H: the RK Cathedral, also known as the new Bavo, is still in use as the main church of the Diocese of Haarlem-Amsterdam. However, the old Bavo on the market, you are talking about and a picture of shows, is that indeed not. The new Bavo has no wooden roof and not the famous Müller organ.
