Categories: Art Museums, Museums
Inspirock Rating:
4.2/5 based on 650+ reviews on the web
Housed in three pavilions, each designed by a different architect, Groninger Museum displays modern and contemporary art. The museum opened in 1874, but the current construction wasn't completed until 1994. Take in the distinct pavilions, a silver cylindrical building, a yellow tower, and a blue deconstructivist space. These structures merge seamlessly into one museum located on the canal. Explore the museum to see local, national, and international works of art. If you'd like a more in-depth understanding of the exhibits, choose from one of the several tours offered. • If you are visiting in groningen can visit the Groninger museum actually not missing. The museum is opposite the main train station in the water. In addition to the permanent collection, there is always a special exhibition with a theme or an artist. A must to Go!

  • The Groninger Museum has itself with the David Bowie exhibition absolutely proven great care and special exhibitions. The organization is good, the museum is easy to find (on crawling distance from the main station) and is also on the route to the city centre. The museum is well furnished, spacious and soothing. The staff is familiar with the work and very attentive. Nice museum to visit more often!

  • Beautiful (small) museum and thereby somewhat limited m.b.t. exhibition capacity. Neue Wilden I experienced as fun, but not particularly. Entr√©eprijs I found the spicy in relation to money (13 eur)

  • I decided to visit the museum in a cloudy and rainy day, and so I did: the ticket was free (student ticket) and the exhibition was really beautiful. From old paintings to sculptures and modern art, the museum has a very interesting collection based on the history of Groningen. There are even some works of art by very famous artists like Van Gogh, but they are not so easy to spot: just read the labels!
  • I attended to David Bowie exhibition. It was really amazing. I'm looking forward to visit again
  • Even the building is an exhibition item, great museum!
  • Great museum just five min from the station
  • Nice museum, but not always nice expositions.
