Art Museum Museum
Explore beautiful and thought-provoking art at Van Abbemuseum, a venue hosting an impressive collection of modern and contemporary art. The design and architecture of the building itself has garnered admiration and includes a sculpture garden. Once inside, explore collections from Dutch, Flemish, and German artists, as well as works from Picasso, Kandinsky, Lissitzky, and Rodin. Look for posters created by Situationist Jacqueline de Jong in Paris during May 1968, as well as video art. Where to stay in Eindhoven

Despite its popularity with international soccer crowds and business travelers, Eindhoven rarely runs out of affordable places to stay. The most expensive district remains the city center, where spacious rooms come with access to fine restaurants, shops, and spa and fitness facilities. For a less expensive stay near Eindhoven's major attractions, check out the city's guesthouses, which offer cozy rooms and modern amenities at a fraction of the price charged by the hotel chains. The surrounding villages provide additional choices, including good-value hostels and campgrounds.

  • Museum had an extensive emphasis on modern works of possible period significance, but lacking interest or aesthetic appeal. The museum curator's selections appear to represent a strong preference towards social activist art, designed to advance the careers of their creators, rather than reflect genuine talent or forms of quality. If you are a resident of Eindhoven, bring your city pass (stadtpas) for a significant discount.
  • This museum is okay. The building itself is very beautiful and light, and they definitely have some amazing art works, but the building is also too big for one visit: really choose what you want to see, and don't try it all in one go. There are many art works that are complicated (and very little interpretation is offered), so museum fatigue is definitely around the corner. Bonus points: free lockers, gender-neutral toilets, fantastic museum shop with great gifts and original books and beaaautiful cafĂ© with lovely terrace.
  • Carefully curated collection; divulges the history and contemporary state of modern art in an approachable manner. Highly recommended for novices in the field of art history and aesthetics.
  • Was here for an event in a special conference room. Considering how small the room was there was quite a lot of people that fit in. The sound was good. Only improvement that could be made is how to involve the people on the top-floor more (they tended to be ignored by the speaker like this)
  • Had to pay this place a visit because of school. Mixed feelings after visiting. It seems like the art is put on display more on a basis of modernness and quirkiness than actual skill and quality. Recommend you to visit on Tuesday between 15:00 and 17:00 to get free entrance.
