  • It is just a small museum, but it will bring you quite a lot. You will see how it was when, in this exact spot, Mr. Philips started his lightbulb company in 1889 - growing out to become one of the big...  more »

  • In August 2013, my dad and I went to visit this museum on the third day of our trip to the Netherlands. It was a really interesting museum. It's all about Philips, a major Dutch electronics company who are best known for making light bulbs, electric shavers and televisions. It has a great exhibition of Philips products are from the past and some are from the present as well. This is where Philips was founded in 1891 by Gerard Philips and his father Frederik. • I was not sure if it worths of €9, but finally it was good spending. I suggest the visit especially if you haven't any clue what Philips family brand really is. Amazing summary about the fact that Philips invented most of the things related to your everyday usage.
  • This is an interesting place for tech kids but adults could find some interesting things here too. I can't say that Eindhoven has a lot of tourist attractions but this place is definitely worth to visit.
  • Very nice museum. Nice view of the original light bulb factory. Tons of Philips' history.
  • Very cool museum with many interesting everyday objects and interactive games. Took us around 2 hours including coffee in the lovely museum cafe.

Where to stay in Eindhoven

Despite its popularity with international soccer crowds and business travelers, Eindhoven rarely runs out of affordable places to stay. The most expensive district remains the city center, where spacious rooms come with access to fine restaurants, shops, and spa and fitness facilities. For a less expensive stay near Eindhoven's major attractions, check out the city's guesthouses, which offer cozy rooms and modern amenities at a fraction of the price charged by the hotel chains. The surrounding villages provide additional choices, including good-value hostels and campgrounds.
