  • We were a bit late at the Castle and found it a waste to even before 9.50 inward. sufficient parking facilities and for hiking

  • Doorwerth is situated between the lower Rhine and the beautifully restored Castle Doorwerth. A beautiful environment for hiking and cycling in the fall, also worth it.

  • A beautiful castle in the Betuwe, decorated as a museum. the museum tells a lot about the history of the House and its inhabitants. Also about working in the forest and you'll come to know much about hunting. There is plenty to see and read, but it's all a bit ' dusty '. Younger children will soon get bored, though there be activities for the children. There is a shop in the Castle, because access is not free. Outside the House, but inside the walls of the Castle, is a cafe, where we do not use. the castle is beautifully situated. and provides opportunity to make beautiful pictures. from the castle to Castle is a short Doornenburgh, that is well worth it.

  • Great place to cycle to for coffee and a bite to eat.
  • A very nice place to visit and learn about history
  • A lovely Castle to visit. There's an interesting museum inside. But if you're here for taking a walk in the beautiful surroundings, you can also just enjoy the restaurant. I recommend visiting during Winter when it's freezing, so you can skate the canal. Don't forget to bring your ice skates! The castle is very good to reach by car or bike. There's free parking.
  • Castle Doorwerth castle with medieval appearance, they would have known earlier under the name Dorenweerd Castle. The castle was built in 1260 and was of wood. This brande, and for the first time in 1280 there is mention of the Castle, this time of stone. The Castle has its medieval appearance probably due to the rare present of the owners at that time (between 1430 and 1500). The monumental Robinia, which according to tradition, in 1579, the oldest planted Robinia of Netherlands with a magnitude of 7 meters. We found the Castle very accessible and attractive.

  • One of the most beautiful castles in the Netherlands. The castle is rebuilt on several occasions and that is on the outside. The entrance to look is on the high side; 9.5 euro.
