(4.6/5 based on 130+ reviews on the web)
Paint a tile or clog at Delft Pottery De Delftse Pauw, offering free guided tours for visitors interested in learning more about a major local art form. This family-owned studio with a shop remains best known for its traditional hand-painted Delftware (a.k.a Delft pottery, recognized by its blue-and-white designs). The multilingual guides can show you every step of the process, but if you prefer a hands-on approach to learning, join a workshop and try painting a tile on your own. Hand-painted items must be glazed and fired, so you'll be able to pick up your own creation in a week--or have it shipped to your home address. • We have a tour in the Delftse Pauw where we saw the potters at work, the ovens and dry boards were allowed to see and all kinds of interesting tidbits. To top it off we were allowed to own a dish or bowl, tile painting. We got a practice so could experience how challenging tile and paint is a porcelain painter. You understand why the prices of the service of the Delftse Pauw are quite high: there is a lot of manual work in!

  • Visited this place with wife & daughter. The staff was very much courteous. He has explained the procedure in English language .Bought pottery from this place & preserved as a souvenirs. Pottery is very much costly
  • Friendly staff, short factory tour, and certainly a shop. The factory is basically one floor with crafstmen working and greeting the visitors. Don't expect any piece be less than 35 euro (Apr, 2016). What you in pictures here is pretty much what you will see during the visit. Walk from Market is a good 30 min walk. In a good weather it's a nice stroll. If you are looking to something on bigger scale visit another factory - at the other side of train station.
  • A very nice place to include if you are touring Delft. You are gonna get a free entrance and free. Our guests from L.A. including us were very surprised and happy how excellent they provide the guided tour even if it was just 10mins plus the staff are really friendly.
  • Nice and quiet place. Tour of the factory takes about 15 mins
  • Creative and expensive pottery in Delft. At a very nice location in front of a canal. Delft is a very peaceful place.
