  • I've been in and around the park for years on my own or with friends. Together with the 2 other parks adjacent to it, it's larger and more enjoyable without disturbances than the famous Margaret Islan...  more »

  • Beautiful and clear park with quite some height differences, which is unique for this part of the Netherlands. During summertime, each Sunday free outdoor concerts. Super relaxed atmosphere. The park has an extraordinary waterfall. You can walk under it! Last but not least there's the water-museum including a real water wheel.
  • My local dog walking spot up until a year ago. Beautiful park in the centre of Arnhem.
  • This is 10 min. walk from my parents place and an amazing park to walk in. It's quiet around the weekdays, and in the weekends there are often activities organised around the park. My 3 kids love going there, and specially the waterfall...
  • One of the few highlights that Arnhem has. During the summer there are many events like the 'Rondeweide' (it's always open but during the summer they have live bands playing). The park is pretty clean and it's a nice place to have picknicks, small parties of to go on a walk.
  • Don't leave Arnhem without visiting Park Sonsbeek. Enjoy the park that is well over 100y/o

Where to stay in Arnhem

Although many visitors to Arnhem end up choosing a centrally located hotel near the main train station, you can find plenty of equally comfortable rooms farther away from this busy part of town. For easy access to the surrounding countryside, check out the guesthouses and self-catering apartments on the outskirts of town, where you can get a quiet night's sleep and take advantage of free parking. Alternatively, visit Arnhem from the nearby city of Nijmegen, which offers a greater variety of mid-range hotels and family-run inns.
