  • Initially, very interesting, but then begins to bother walking home and read all labels. It is worth to schedule a visit for the whole day to leisurely walk, dine there and walk. Morning in distant parts of the Park almost unoccupied, recommend to go by tram directly in the opposite end.

  • Wonderful! Who goes to the Netherlands cannot fail to meet this open-air museum. He tells the whole story of the Dutch people, reproducing the houses at a time. You will spend one day road in this Museum!

  • My favorite museum since i was a child. This museum is filled with history of all sorts and has the space to do so. You can get around with authentic trams or just take a stroll through the forest to the next exhibition. The price is fairly high. But it's definitely worth it. Don't forget to visit the man who has been in the lavatory for decades (near the candy shop).
  • Amazing open air park filled with old buildings from all over Nederland. Good for all ages, lots of demonstrations of old crafts. Allow at least 2 hours, 4 if you can. Entry prices are quite high, but if you are prepared to stay 3 hours or longer you will get good value. Take a picnic if you can, but you can buy snacks on site.
  • We felt like in old dutch city. It was nice to travel by the tram or go for walk between the stations. It was nice to see how the peasant life was, how the culture looked like in different periods. Also there was old cheese factory, train station with cargo loading platforms or fischerman and laundry houses and windmills. We were happy to spend a couple of hours there in this interesting world..
  • Excellent museum which gives interesting insights into Dutch culture and way of life in years gone by. The site is very big and you can easily spend a day here without getting bored. Great for kids too.
  • This is a must-see museum! It tells the story of Dutch life and history in a way that's very fun, kid friendly and real. I've also heard this museum was used as a refuge during WWII and has a very deep history of it's own.

Where to stay in Arnhem

Although many visitors to Arnhem end up choosing a centrally located hotel near the main train station, you can find plenty of equally comfortable rooms farther away from this busy part of town. For easy access to the surrounding countryside, check out the guesthouses and self-catering apartments on the outskirts of town, where you can get a quiet night's sleep and take advantage of free parking. Alternatively, visit Arnhem from the nearby city of Nijmegen, which offers a greater variety of mid-range hotels and family-run inns.
