Where to stay in Arnhem

Although many visitors to Arnhem end up choosing a centrally located hotel near the main train station, you can find plenty of equally comfortable rooms farther away from this busy part of town. For easy access to the surrounding countryside, check out the guesthouses and self-catering apartments on the outskirts of town, where you can get a quiet night's sleep and take advantage of free parking. Alternatively, visit Arnhem from the nearby city of Nijmegen, which offers a greater variety of mid-range hotels and family-run inns.

  • Great experience. Nice zoo, very educational, with a lot of respect for the animals. A must do! We surely will be back.  more »
  • Although it was a Holiday and the Zoo was quite full, it didn't feel top much like it because you can loose yourself a Bit on the many paths. Devided into different areas you Van watch the animals wit...  more »
  • First time to this zoo, great to see plants and animals in their habitat and with much more space than in many other places. Every area is different adding to the overall experience. Great place for a...  more »

  • A nice Zoo with many new concepts how to show & take care about animals. Have been there on a Friday with not super nice weather; good decision as it looks like that it can be very crowded on nice weekends. Good for children's. Four stars as some parts good give more space to the animals... but I know this it not easy today. Bring your own drinks and food, inside prices are not low. We will come back when the Mangrove area is finished.
  • Burgers zoo is still one of the best zoo's i know. Different worlds with different themes. Every world is a experience and can take you a day to discover in full. The food is good but expensive but unlike a lot of places you can bring your own food and drinks if you want. Getting a year subscription is affordable and makes it easy to visit for a short time or even to just enjoy the playground with your kids.
  • Very cool zoo with different biomes such as desert, safari, bush, ocean and soon to come, the mangrove. Well-ordered walkways but also some more interesting paths to explore. Great kids' playgrounds, nice food and the tickets are not overpriced.
  • Simply amazing. Very large and pretty animal habitats. Great themed areas with big constructs such as a tropical dome and a desert dome.
  • As a couple we spent 5 hours here. Particular highlights: Tigers, the Bush area and the Ocean area. The Bush is an unbelievable experience. You forget you are in the Netherlands and feel like you are in a real rainforest. There is a restaurant in the rainforest which makes you feel like you're really on holiday.
