  • Gorgeous park walking distance from the city center. Lovely area, very clean, always a great vibe. Very safe. Have seen families go for a walk there at night. Always nicely illuminated.
  • Nice place for either hanging out or running. It's a tourist place so you'll see a lot of people chilling in the grass, listening to music, etc. However, you can always run, bike and do exercise also. It's a good place if you're like me and enjoy running and seeing people.
  • Amsterdam's version of Central Park. Busy towards the city center, quieter and more locals towards the other end of the park. Always maintained, clean, and busy with joggers, sun-seekers and perfect for a breath of fresh air.
  • Great retreat from the tourist bustle of the surrounding city. Although the bikes wiz through here as if it were still the sidewalks in the city, but a great respite. Many people go here, but it is large enough to find your space to smoke, to sleep, to play or to meet and greet. Bike trails, walking trails and plenty of dogs to entertain a dog lover. There are hot dog vendors in the park and a cafe or two as well. Tip: get to a grocery store and have a picnic here-its a great change of pace-trust.
  • Walking through Vondelpark is like living in a painting. Everywhere you turn you'll find another breathtaking example of Amsterdam's attention to public spaces. People relaxing on lawns, by lakes, and in the rose garden. The only downside is the trash, but that's the visitor's faults, not the parks. So many bird species here, even parrots! Perfect way to spend a day in Amsterdam.
