  • I visited with my two sons aged 7 & 8, only went to the junior section of the museum. We took the audio guide and accompanying booklet which gives visitors an insight to four children growing up in the war. From their differing circumstances and perspectives of what happened to them during that time. Using the audio guide young visitors hear the stories of what they went through and completed missing statements in the booklet. The quality of the sets, content itself, all carefully angled towards children, who have had such little exposure to this topic was fantastic. And delivered in both Dutch & English! We spent nearly 5 hours here with a break half way for lunch and all thoroughly enjoyed it. Very stimulating for children and a great way to learn about a major event in history. Highly recommended!
  • Not bad! The audio guide is A MUST! Its biggest contributions and point is the slow creep of Nazi Germany's anti Jewish policies. I didn't start off with camps, just little policies that got worse and worse, until people were getting drafter for 'jobs'. I wish it focused more on resistance members and their story and actions, but Amsterdam and the Netherlands really got the soft touch with the invasion. At first anyways. So for the most part people were polite!
  • Very interesting and well done. Four stars because I thought there would be more info on the actual resistance. The museum would be more appropriately named The Museum of the Netherlands During Occupation.
  • Really worth visiting this museum. I truly enjoyed learning more about the dutch resistance during the occupation in WW2. The exhibits are easy to follow and offer a comprehensive overview of the occupation, its various stages, and personalized accounts of people involved in the resistance and their method of operating. Truly well-worth the visit.
  • This museum is extremely interesting and well put together. Its a must see if coming to Amsterdam! Audio tour walks you through the exhibits which have lots of details. Its not all man made and have actual artifacts from this time period. Not located in the most touristy places dont skip it!
