The Jordaan, Amsterdam

Explore one of the capital city's historical neighborhoods, The Jordaan, known for its small, winding streets and cultural sites. This was a working-class and emigrant district in the 17th century but is now a popular neighborhood for young entrepreneurs, artists, and students. Discover art galleries, boutiques, pubs, and cafes throughout the charming quarter, where many significant figures in Dutch history, such as writer Joost van Vondel and artist Rembrandt, once resided. Visit Rembrandt's grave at Westerkerk church, the Anne Frank House, and many other important sites. View art studios, courtyards, and stone tablets, for which the quarter is famous. • Very nice, peaceful, and less touristy neighborhood. I personally think the canals are prettier here. Lots of nice café and interesting shops.  more »
  • This should you have seen. A beautiful area between the canals with nice little streets, interesting shops and delicious restaurants. Just take it through hiking or cycling. Here and there to go in and your senses work. Like most in the spring or early summer, but can actually always good. Can recommend it to everyone who comes to Amsterdam.

  • The Jordaan is one of those neighborhoods that you'll be walking aimlessly, finding stores and restaurants. The sunset is beautiful on any of its channels. Take it easy, take your time. Feel.
