  • Nice, well organized, beautiful texts ... Pleasant to take a walk between texts and walls of books in English with a one of the most beautiful areas in my view of Amsterdam at 3 minutes from Dam

  • Just a fabulous store that you can spend hours in, wandering around like a kid in a candy store. Absolutely amazing sci-fi and fantasy section with lots of obscure titles. A must-visit when you're in ...  more »

  • How many bookstores have a giant tree in the center?! Loved this bookstore. They have an amazing selection of English books in the middle of Amsterdam. Highly recommend all book lovers to explore their wonderful selection and meet the friendly and knowledgeable staff. P.S. you could even leave with a blind date 😉
  • It's so wonderful here! They've good collections of titles of almost all genres! I'm not surprised about the prices but being able to find an English book store in the middle of Amsterdam is fantastic! Check out the second floor, there's also a quaint cafe.
  • One of my favourite bookstores in the world. Great selection, helpful and friendly staff, and it’s in the heart of Spui. Make sure you get a coffee and something to smoke after you make your purchase and find a nice spot outside to read your new purchases. Also, if you time it right, you’ll go the same day as the art market outside in Spui.
  • I tend to come here often to buy trading card game cards, and when I want to crack open the boosters I take a seat at the window on the first floor with a nice cup of coffee. It's never really completely packed here, so it is also nice to just browse the books/magazines and flip some pages without worrying about blocking anyone walking around.
  • Whenever looking for a book or magazine in English or one with an American publisher, I head for either my "home store" in The Hague or the one in Amsterdam where there is a much larger selection of books and magazines. Don't miss perusing the out-of- date magazines in the little back room (next to new magazine room) for earlier editions of art, fashion, & news magazines. The physical environment in both stores is plain and simple but the staff are always helpful when asked--thank God, no hovering staff pressuring you to buy!
