There are several bookstores on the Spui in Amsterdam and on Fridays there is also book market on the square. As the name suggests, the range especially English speaking. We were looking for certain comic books and also there they were pretty sorted. Staff was helpful and they could order things if necessary. We got a return.

My favorite bookshop. A great collection of fantasy books. The games department always has some surprises and the staff is very knowledgeable. Only thing I miss is a coffee corner :-)

This is easily one of the best book places in Amsterdam from my experience. Their rivalled Waterstone's is around the corner, but the American Book centre offers 4 stories of all the type of English literature you can imagine.

The interior is fascinating. Just get lost in their different floors. The collection of books is huge and the staff is super friendly.

I've never wanted to buy more books from a single bookstore than I did here. Several floors of books on a wide range of topics. From coffee table to geopolitical cliff notes and everything in between. Could spend a whole day here

Great place. A lot of books. Pricey. Children's section is on the second floor and place has no elevator. Beware if you are with a stroller.
