  • Scheepvaarthuis is close to Amsterdam Central station. We viewed from ship, which took the jaunt. Scheepvaarthuis is one of the attractions of Amsterdam and the guide tells about him. Of course, this is not a House 16 century typical Dutch architecture. The building is in art deco style, but he has more than 100 years. Interestingly enough. Now there is a five-star hotel. My first impression was from the terraces, facing the channel really wanted to sit with a cup of coffee.

  • A great example of Dutch architecture of the early 20-th century: the building was built in 1911-1916, van der Mey project involving de Klerk and Cramer. Sharpened corner building symbolizes the prow of a ship. It is decorated with sculptures of the God of the sea Neptune and his wife Amphitrite, which keeps the steering wheel. In addition to numerous sculptures, the building is decorated with other elements of the style of expressionism: art glass and stained glass, forged items, decorative brickwork.
