  • When on vacation, we often look for parks where our kids can blow off some steam. This one was well-maintained and had a big fun kids fountain (it was cold - not sure how it was so full of kids) and a...  more »
  • Beautiful newly renovated park in the eastern part of Amsterdam. Many old trees and grass fields. Nice to walk through it.

  • Nice Park, green area, good for sightseeing, especially in sunny day in summer. Close to good restaurants and bars

  • Very lovely park, it a nice part of Amsterdam. There are lots of ducks and even herons to feed. Usually herons will fly away once they see you from a mile off. These herons are tame. They are divas that love attention from humans that feed them. We even brought them herrings to feed them. However there was none around, so we fed them to the crows. Reminded me of Manchester a little the park. With the drunken crazy people hanging around the park. Very nice place if you want to chill in the sun or read a book
  • Nice park in the east of Amsterdam. Has improved a lot in the last years now that they have removed the barriers between the buildings (and museum) on the north side of the park. Nice place to relax with the buzz of the city around you. It can be a bit messy at times, and the local drunks made it their hangout too (harmless, though). Good place to cool down with children on a hot day.
  • Beautiful old park with less tourists than the others and a top-notch, inspired playground at the end by the hospital (OLVG), a paddling pool, and plenty of space to wander. I'm hesitant to give five stars, however, as my experiences of the park with and without children are very different. The 20+ times I've gone with kids, I've had no issues at all and leave feeling warm and fuzzy about Oosterpark. However, the few times I've gone alone, I was cat-called aggressively and felt quite uncomfortable by the men present- leering and making comments at women from benches, circling on bikes whistling and catcalling picnickers and sunbathers. This is an unusual behavior in Amsterdam, so I'd rather stick to the other parks on my kid-free days.
  • Great for getting out of the hectic city vibe during the day. Surrounded by nice bars and restaurants. If you like it more quiet or want to swim go to Flevopark a little bit further east.
  • Large park with tall trees and some open spaces. Has playground, a wading pool for children, and a pond. 4 Stars because there are always some questionable character there, Every. Single. Time., unfortunately.
