Create an itinerary including National Monument
A national monument is a monument constructed in order to commemorate something of importance to national heritage, such as a country's founding, independence, war, or the life and death of a historical figure.

The term may also refer to a specific monument status, such as a national heritage site, by reason of their cultural importance rather than age (see National Monument (United States)).

National monument status is usually granted to colossal symbols of national identity.

  • It is in a small square across the street from Dam Square. It is undergoing restoration now. Lots of cafes in the area, but they no longer have much to look at.

  • The momument is located on the Dam Square and has a lot of stories. I would really suggest reading into the history before or after your visit because there is not much information on sight

  • After long walk in Dam Square, this the best place to sit and relax. Although we didn't get chance to capture this monument because of renovation. Tip- Free English walking tour start from here.
  • Beautiful spot to sit down and relax, a nice welcome in your visit to Amsterdam, as well a very photogenic place, so feel free to make some gorgeous pictures. Next to this monument you will find the National Palace, so Enjoy!
  • Dam Square or Dam is a town square in Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands. Its notable buildings and frequent events make it one of the most well-known and important locations in the city and the country.
  • Monument speaks for itself, a truly breathtaking sight! There are many shops open around the dam square including well known brands. There is very good lighting even at night and the restaurants are very delicious there. There are also very delicious ‘Belgian’ fries stores in the area as they call it served with their special mayonnaise sauce.
  • An iconic point of interest for tourist visiting Amsterdam. It's the centre of all activities literally. You can go either your way towards the more uptown locations like the rjiks museum and other iconic places or take the other way and spoil yourself within the red light area, casinos, adult entertainment and the famous Amsterdam coffee shops.
