  • It's called square Leidseplein and the Max Euwe Centrum is a building in commemoration and memory to the chess player Max Euwe. It has a Museum, library and other chess-related activities such as lectures, seminars etc. Next there is the famous giant chess, it is worth taking a picture because it's still a tourist attraction. The square is also located the Hard Rock Cafe.

  • Awesome place for chess lovers! I haven't found anything similar in other major cities! Good level of the players along with some grand masters! Open from morning till 21:00. Also a nice place to chill out since there are no cars
  • Loved this place! Being a great fan of chess, I spent I guess nearly 2 hours watching people playing. There were always bunch of people stopping by to enjoy the matches.
  • Lots of cafés and you can play check.
  • If you like chess is the Max Euwe Centrum in Amsterdam is the place to be. The enormous chess library is very interesting. There are regular activities, such as lectures provided by Grand Masters. But you can also get your lesdiploma or follow training courses at various levels. There is always a chess board where you can play chess on a nice pot. And if you dare you can challenge someone on the street on the big Board in the square.
