Magere Brug, Amsterdam
(3.8/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web)
One of the most iconic drawbridges in a city of waterways, Magere Brug stretches over the Amstel River to help connect the city. Though the present structure wasn't built until 1934, its white wooden design replicates the historical bridge that proceeded it. Enjoy a stroll over the river and soak up the city center's bustling atmosphere. Use of the bridge is limited to pedestrians and cyclists; it opens several times a day to allow boats through along the river. • Magere Brug was sightseeing from a bridge near the Rembrandtplein Blau. It was unfortunately couldn't wait until the time is not open drawbridge.

  • It was a bridge is a drawbridge over the Amstel River, is reminiscent of "drawbridge at Arles" of Vincent van Gogh in a scene unique to Canal Street. I think it is seen at a distance from the bridge it was crossing a bridge, but most become a painting.

  • It is a pleasure to see different parts of this beautiful, lit and lively city. So this bridge is one of them, should you be around have a look will not be disappointed

  • gezellige kroeg, goede uitsmijter, altijd plek
  • It's worth the hype! The menu is limited, but the quality of the food makes up for it. Nice view of the Amstel river and the "Skinny Bridge" that gives this cafe its name.
  • Great spot to hang outside in the sun and cute setting indoors too - friendly staff, great snack food and meals... Easily becomes your "local" if you live in the area!
  • Leuk Cafe, met een lekkere daghap!
  • A cozy cafe with a great little terrace overviewing the Magere Brugg, one of the most known sights in Amsterdam. This bar has an interesting function: If you get there in early evening, it will most likely be packed. But if you get there around 8PM, it will be almost empty. It will then fill up again once the performances in the nearby theatre, Carre, are over, mostly around 10PM. It's mostly locals coming here, and all of them are really nice!
