Magere Brug, Amsterdam

(3.8/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web)
One of the most iconic drawbridges in a city of waterways, Magere Brug stretches over the Amstel River to help connect the city. Though the present structure wasn't built until 1934, its white wooden design replicates the historical bridge that proceeded it. Enjoy a stroll over the river and soak up the city center's bustling atmosphere. Use of the bridge is limited to pedestrians and cyclists; it opens several times a day to allow boats through along the river. • It is a bridge. Not more and not less. The special thing about it is that she was seeing Bond film in a James. Who wants to walk not extra then, can consider them even during a cruise.

  • Nice bridge, while at night it reminded me of the Feria de Sevilla with those yellow bombillones that illuminate it at night, a little tacky.

  • The Magere Brug is illuminated and connect the Quays of the river Amstel (roughly from Theater Carré to the Church Street). You can only on foot and by bicycle across it and of course, you could be there with the (cruise) boat under by. Starting from the ' Stopera ' have you had a nice view of the Skinny Bridge. It is certainly worth a closer look at this bridge once a visit to Amsterdam.

  • gezellige kroeg, goede uitsmijter, altijd plek
  • It's worth the hype! The menu is limited, but the quality of the food makes up for it. Nice view of the Amstel river and the "Skinny Bridge" that gives this cafe its name.
  • Great spot to hang outside in the sun and cute setting indoors too - friendly staff, great snack food and meals... Easily becomes your "local" if you live in the area!
  • Leuk Cafe, met een lekkere daghap!
  • A cozy cafe with a great little terrace overviewing the Magere Brugg, one of the most known sights in Amsterdam. This bar has an interesting function: If you get there in early evening, it will most likely be packed. But if you get there around 8PM, it will be almost empty. It will then fill up again once the performances in the nearby theatre, Carre, are over, mostly around 10PM. It's mostly locals coming here, and all of them are really nice!
