Madame Tussauds, Amsterdam

3.5
#7 of 111 in Museums in Amsterdam
Meet replicas of your favorite celebrities and historical figures at Madame Tussauds. Based on the original museum in London, this museum features wax recreations of famous individuals from Elizabeth Taylor to Albert Einstein. If you are more interested in Dutch history, visit the Dutch Golden Age wax exhibit. Kids will love taking photos with their favorite stars, and teenagers will especially enjoy the multimedia zones, including a pop idols experience. View the world's largest animatronics' wax figurine, a replica of Claas Janszoon at 5 m (18 ft) tall, and take in city views from the top floor of the building. • A fun place to go may be seen. Celebrities you can take beautiful pictures with wax sculptures in a pleasant environment.

  • Museum of dolls of wax of international personalities on 3 floors. We loved its interactive side with the public: Accessories are available (cane, dress, Cap, hat, Crown,...) in order to put themselves in the shoes of the artist and to take pictures with. Him only downside would be that the number of statues is quite limited and some characters not really well done when compared with the Grevin Museum. However, overall, this museum is to discover ;)

  • Awesome experience... the wax statues are a thing to see...so many different personalities....so many different walks of life...a must visit for anyone who goes to Amsterdam... do not miss the photo opportunities with all the personalities...you can rampwalk here too!!!!... and get it on video on your mail...not too far from Amsterdam central..
  • It's impressive, the lifelike statues are amazingly crafted. But we went to see Enzo Knol but he wasn't there. There wasn't even an announcement. I'm a bit disappointed
  • The level of detail in sculptures is incredible! There are many local celebrities' wax sculptures, which may not be too interesting for visiting tourists. Go to MT only if you spend more than 3 days in A'dam and have nothing better to do with your 28 EUR.
  • I only saw young celebrities there I expected better artists to be showcased. They probably change it every now and then. Go there if you are spending more than 2 days in Amsterdam. Otherwise there are much more things to do there.
  • Had so much fun , took lots of photos. Definitely a good option to go. You can get tickets online so you wont have to stand in a line. The tourist booklets that you can find in hotels offer around 2 euro discount per ticket, so can be a great deal for a big family.
