Kalverstraat, Amsterdam
(2/5 based on 280+ reviews on the web)
Shop to your heart's content at Kalverstraat, a popular commercial street filled with shops, bars, restaurants, and salons. The market's name reveals its original purpose, as a market for calves, until the 17th century. Browse clothing, bags, souvenirs, cards, and perfume. For a delicious snack, explore the many choices of ice cream. Some of the brands here include Waterstones, Boots, Forever 21, and H&M. The Dutch version of Monopoly actually features this street as one of its most expensive properties. • Good variety of shops including large chains and some smaller boutiques. Easy to pass an hour or two browsing with no pressure to buy. Great atmosphere in December with the pretty Christmas lights
  • It is one of the main shopping streets of the city where you can find lots of shops of all kinds. Along its route there are many shops of first brand and others typical of the Netherlands, as those sold cheese, souvenirs and some sex shop. If you wish to make purchases, it is interesting to explore it. Prices are high and the street itself not differs from any commercial streets of other European cities.
