Houseboat Museum, Amsterdam
Categories: Specialty Museums, Museums
Get a glimpse into what it's like to live on a houseboat at Houseboat Museum. The floating museum is located along the Prinsengrach on the Hendrika Maria, a 1914 freighter for sand and gravel that's been converted into a living museum. Step aboard and receive a laminated guide so you can explore on your own. Walk around the boat, which is the size of an average Amsterdam apartment, and learn how all areas of the space within are utilized. Put Houseboat Museum and other Amsterdam attractions into our Amsterdam vacation route planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

It is a real houseboat which you can visit. You get a sheet that explains the different rooms and functions of the houseboat. It would have been nice to make it a little more interactive. But it is a nice little museum and if you have not much time, you can go there. It just costs 4€ and you will be done withing half an hour.
Interesting but over priced.
It's a single houseboat that has been turned into a museum by the owner, who charges about 3 euros for admission. He's a nice enough guy who's happy to answer all your houseboat questions. Worth checking out if you're in Amsterdam for a few days.

Hm, I liked it. but with that ticket price, it's just ok to be there. I become in love with house boats and wish I could own one. :P
