HEMA, Amsterdam
(3.8/5 based on 140+ reviews on the web)
The Kalvertoren, a shopping center in Amsterdam, is located on Kalverstraat, Amsterdam's busiest shopping street.

The project was developed by Multi Corporation. In 1998, the shopping centre tower won the annual European Shopping Centre Award that is presented by the ICSC, the International Council of Shopping Centres.

The glass and steel tower has a staircase, an escalator and a glass lift, ferrying customers to the top. From the restaurant on the top floor, one has a view of Amsterdam's inner city. Besides many shops, it is also home to two department stores, various cafes and a restaurant.

  • A lot of different staff such as clothing, office tools, kitchen staff. You can also eat there. Try special HEMA hot dog with mustard.
  • Scattered interior, it's confusing to know whether or not the stuff underneath the stairs is part of the shop and whether or not it's okay to go there with a shopping basket or not since it's also behind cash registers. But aside all of that, it's a place that offer a good quality/price ratio with a big selection of goods; all from hygiene to food, household stuff and sports equipment.
  • Selling a wide variety of products at reasonable prices. There's also a cafe in this HEMA.
  • I've been seating for 20 minutes waiting for a sandwich.... No one cares of the clients waiting in the line, they are just putting cakes in box and chatting between each other.
  • Nice store with some seats available. In the center so you can have a break here.
