The Royal Concertgebouw (Dutch: Koninklijk Concertgebouw, pronounced [ˌkoːnɪnklək kɔnˈsɛrtxəbʌu]) is a concert hall in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The Dutch term "concertgebouw" translates into English as "concert building". Its superb acoustics place it among the finest concert halls in the world, along with Boston's Symphony Hall and the Musikverein in Vienna.
In celebration of the building's 125th anniversary, Queen Beatrix bestowed the royal title "Koninklijk" upon the building on 11 April 2013, as she had on the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra upon its 100th in 1988.

  • The quality of the music in this space is probably among the best I've ever experienced. The acoustics are at least as good as Carnegie Hall and Boston's Symphony Hall, two of the best in the world...  more »

  • If I could give it 10 stars, I would. Not to be missed. Aside from the beauty of the hall, the acoustics are the best I've ever heard. True and precise, as though in the balcony you were 20 feet away, but also beautifully blended and rich.
  • Wonderful acoustic, beautiful decor and great service for beverages during the intermezzo. Went to see Ravel and would recommend any classical music enthusiasts to attend a concert here
  • Absolutely fabulous! I believe the worst seat in the house is 10x better than any concert hall I have ever been in. I don't think there is a bad seat. We will return!
  • Great venue. Free drink before & at intermission a great surprise. Air conditioning can't cope with 38 degrees
  • Beautiful building and a wonderful concert hall. Be on the look out for the free lunchtime concerts open to all. Get your free ticket from the box office around 11.45 and the concert starts at 12.30. Not a daily event though, so check the website for that and the details of evening events.
