Das Geschäft befindet sich eher unscheinbar in einer kleinen Nebenstraße. Ein Besuch lohnt sich auf jeden Fall. Das Personal hat sehr gute Fachkenntnisse und kann daher sehr gut beraten. A large and also versatile selection guarantees that you will find something special. Some chocolates are very hard to find, because they are imported from overseas in Europe. I think that you will find some manufacturers hardly somewhere other than at chocolatl. It is very gratifying that you can taste each chocolate before buying basically. Just ask.show original

Not only the seller is a really friendly guy, but he's got tremendous amount of knowledge when it comes to chocolate
It's all bars, nearly all imported, so don't mistake it for a chocolatier, but their selection is excellent and fresh, and they have wonderful little choco-shots (espresso-sized delicious servings of chocolate meted in steamed milk).
I always visit a couple of chocolate shops when I travel; this is by far my best experience. The proprietors are knowledgeable about chocolate, they stock a number of interesting and unusual brands, and they are very helpful in answering questions (offering taste tests if needed). Very recommended.
"I didn't know chocolate could do that!" I found myself saying after tasting chocolate from all over the globe - including Vietnam(!) and Italy. This is a lovely, little, well designed centre for chocolate lovers. As other reviewers have said the staff are knowledgeable and passionate about what they do and are happy for you to try anything in the shop. This is easily my favourite chocolate shop in Amsterdam and possibly the world! Well favourite chocolate shop in the world, so far. They, of course, have the award winners (Michel Cluizel, Valrhona etc.) but they also have some amazing lesser known single origin bars (e.g. Marou). There are many standout single origin bars here but don't miss the bonbons as well (single origin ganache chocolates) - they blew me away.
Good service, staff offered to explain more about ingredients. Possible to taste chocolate. Organic, vegan, fairtrade and other options available.
