Centraal Station, Amsterdam

4.2
#2 of 94 in Transportation in The Netherlands
Mass Transportation System · Transportation
Designed beautifully in Neo-Renaissance style, Centraal Station serves as the hub of transportation for locals and tourists, as well as being a National Heritage Site of the Netherlands. Dutch architect Pierre Cuypers, who also built the Rijksmuseum, designed this station, which was completed in 1889. Visit the station if you need to get around the city or if you simply want to take in views of the building's spectacular architecture. Once you've had a look around, head to one of the many tourist sites within walking distance, such as the Royal Palace, Anne Frank House, or Red Light District.
