  • An excellent selection of beers and reasonably priced as far as Amsterdam goes. The service is efficient and the pub attracts a diverse range of all ages. The cheese and salami is great for a snack to...  more »
  • The visit to this factory of beer is an alternative to the Heineken Experience. It is the only mill in the city which still works and they make their own beers. The first time we went was Sunday afternoon, some good time and was all full of people, so we decided to return the day after at lunchtime and there were very few people. From 5 o'clock begins to fill up, but on the outside there are tables to sit. You can choose between several beers and the letter pretty well explains them. We ask Zatte (8% alcohol), but quite soft and Paasij (7% alcohol). The first I liked more. To eat there is no variety, cheese, salami and eggs. Special mention to Spanish knives (in Albacete) putting to cut the sausage. Some waiters are nicest than others, but overall, the service is good and fast. If you like beer, get a hole in your diary and get to taste beers. The mill is a mandatory stop on your visit to Amsterdam.

  • Best brewery in town. It's located in a wind mill! You can arrive even by boat. They also offer cheese, sausages or peanuts to go with the beer. The beer is excellent. It gets very full when there is good weather
  • Spending a quick weekend in Amsterdam, we had to make strategic choices on our destinations. So glad we chose Brouwerij 't IJ Brewery over Heineken. Authentic brewery experience with great beer. Beer comes in smaller glasses each costing around £3. You can order a flight before 6pm. Also, the cheese platters look delicious. Don't expect to get a seat after 6pm on a Friday, but do expect to be with the locals drinking good beer... under a windmill.
  • Can be quite crowded, but if you're lucky you can enjoy a nice craft beer from Amsterdam while enjoying some nice cheese or sausage. Try the specials!
  • Great place to have a good beer. It has a good variety of beers and the place is beautiful. It has tourists but most of all are locals. You can have snacks there, cheese, sausage and peanuts. Their homemade beers are very good.
  • Terrible bar area hospitality was biggest disappointment of an otherwise amazing visit to Amsterdam. Brewery building gets 5* though. Also, buy some more beer flight glasses it's ridiculous you run out of them so much.
