  • I'm surprised that so many foreign visitors expect to find an "authentic" experience at the Amsterdam Bloemenmarkt. It has always been a tourist haunt, ever since I can remember (I'm 50 now). No...  more »
  • Typically extremely touristy and crowded. Would not recommend buying any products at the flea market.  more »
  • I purchased a number of bulbs and plants from this market. Arrived home and found on opening the bags that I had paid a lot of money for a bag of compost.  more »

  • I loved the market, lots of seeds for any kind of flowers and plants, just perfect for someone who's into gardening! Of course also a good place to get all the touristy stuff. Our guide warned us though that the prices for all the cafes would be much higher here than in normal non-touristy places and recommended us to search for cafes a bit away from it.
  • It’s a typical tourist trap but still is a fun place to walk around. It’s puzzling why this place is called the ‘floating’ market because it is not the same thing as a floating market as in Bangkok, Thailand. There are lots of vendors selling prepackaged bulbs, silk flowers and souvenirs to take home for your loved ones.
  • Assorted choices of flowers/tulip bulbs, tin cans of easy to grow herbs and flowers. Even came across certified tulip bulbs for US/Canada entry. Lovely stretch to walk down, basked in flower fragrance. Such colourful, cheerful stretch by the canal.
  • It is not really a floating market in the truest sense but part of the mark is built on the canal. For those who like flowers, this market would be a delight. One can buy tulip buds and seeds of different plants. One can also find souvenirs such as fridge magnets, mugs, ash trays, etc. Souvenirs can be found at cheaper rates at other places though.
  • I am sure this place is beautiful when flowers are in season, but I went when there were not and it is just a bunch of stores selling the same things. Don't recommend visiting out of season unless you want to buy bulbs or flower souvenirs
