Amsterdam Roest, Amsterdam

4.2
#45 of 103 in Sightseeing in Amsterdam
Landmark Tourist Spot
Do a little bit of everything at Amsterdam Roest, an old steel factory that regularly hosts various events, many of which spill onto the street. Check the website for the latest happenings, which may be anything from food festivals to concerts. Even without something specific going on, the area merits a visit, with many restaurants and bars, plus a beach annex next to the canal. Children can enjoy the playground and sandpit while the adults relax on the benches. • Well worth a visit especially on a nice day sat by the water with a cold beer, The choice is of food and drink is great.  more »
  • Housed in a former factory, is undoubtedly one of the most unique venues in the city. Out of the chaos of tourists, super nice atmosphere, especially at sunset in summer, with music and beer, tables outside on board channel. Must try, try, and try again.

  • A very unique place, where you can have a drink, sunbathe on the beach, listen to good music and dancing. Not to be missed.

  • A great place to grab something to eat and have a meal. We shared a vegetable festival platter and it was amazing! Also a good option for vegans/vegetarians. The atmosphere is also great, with a DJ playing music and loads of picnic tables outside perfect for a summer night out.
  • Roest is a nice place to go in a sunny day in Amsterdam. Has a sandy terrace facing the canal that gives you a false feeling of being at the beach. The bar have a good energy and with an alternative decoration style. I really like it because is very local where you wont see a lot of tourists.
  • Big city beach, extended selection of drinks. Cool industrial place with a good touch of hippie. On a sunny day, great with kids!
  • Cool place with nice music. A good spot for a drink and food. The snacks are not so good... In summer it is so nice to lay in the sand next to the canal, which people jump into for a swim!
  • A man made beach and a self service bar and kitchen. Has picnic tables, chairs, and hammocks. A hippie/hipster hangout with a bit of Berlin for good measure.
