Amsterdam Roest, Amsterdam

(4.2/5 based on 65+ reviews on the web)
Do a little bit of everything at Amsterdam Roest, an old steel factory that regularly hosts various events, many of which spill onto the street. Check the website for the latest happenings, which may be anything from food festivals to concerts. Even without something specific going on, the area merits a visit, with many restaurants and bars, plus a beach annex next to the canal. Children can enjoy the playground and sandpit while the adults relax on the benches. • Roest is a must-visit in Amsterdam! Great atmosphere, great music and a lovely crowd to meet! In the summer months, also a place to show off your diving skills :)  more »
  • WARNING - the entire area outside the season offers only very limited range. Most everything is closed here. Roast restaurant is open only sporadically in the evening (weekends from 12 noon). The nearby restaurant Pyotr is unappetizing.

  • When here for my last day in Amsterdam before going back to my country. The place is calm, and relaxing. It is one of the hidden gems in Amsterdam that probably everyone should visit  more »

  • Cool place with nice music. A good spot for a drink and food. The snacks are not so good... In summer it is so nice to lay in the sand next to the canal, which people jump into for a swim!
  • Was here for a tribute for B.I.G. great build around the theme. Sadly the burger was not as tasty and got a burned bun. Place is a bit small when very crowded. This could be noticed when ordering drinks in one room. The name Roest really says it all, the place looks at a rusted place. One of the rooms even has a old double decker bus where you can sit in.
  • It's the best in summer, just sit outside in the sand at the water, enjoy the bonfire... In winter everyone's forced inside by the cold, and it get crowded. I like the concept of getting your own beer from the fridge and quickly pay for it with a touch instead of having to ask for it from the bartenders all the time. It's less touristy because of the little remote location.
  • Amazing bar with a cool unique feel. It is a hidden gem and one of my favourite places in Amsterdam.
  • Truly the urban beach of the city. In the summer people swim in the canal next to bar.
