Het Beatles Museum, Alkmaar

(4.4/5 based on 55+ reviews on the web)
Meet John, Paul, George, and Ringo at Het Beatles Museum, dedicated to probably the most popular band of the 20th century. Arguably the largest collection of Beatles items collected by a single person, the museum displays original band member clothing, albums, instruments, personal documents, toys, books, and comic books inspired by the four iconic musicians. Although the band never visited or played in this town, the local collector and die-hard fan Azing Moltmaker managed to compile a big collection of all things Beatles. The onsite store sells all kinds of Beatles merchandise, from books to bootleg CDs. A visit to Het Beatles Museum represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Alkmaar itinerary maker to plot your vacation.

  • If The cheese market Alkmaar is visited is of course the first where one wants. Always fun to experience, though it's a perfunctory happening. Also the cheese museum in the same market. The latter fell at that time. Few activities, no explanation. The people had busier making small cheese-snacks than with the visitors around. There was plenty of time for, the number of visitors was minimal. After the cheese market and to have visited the museum we went to the Beatle-Museum. As a lover of music, this is a must, a range of attributes and details. In the museum is according to the owner not even everything, but what state is huge. Also here a low number of visitors, which we were lucky enough that the administrator (and owner) gave us a tour. Everywhere an anecdote, a story anywhere. But even without guidance, there was plenty to see and do. As far as we are concerned an outright winner. For comparison: cheese museum a thin 5, Beatlemania a thick 8

  • The museum is not in the very city center of Alkmaar in a well frequented street, but it is very close to the center and... it is worth going to the Pettemerstraat 12A in Alkmaar for it. It is a trip ...  more »
  • Hundred characters are actually unnecessary. What a beautiful collection and if you are lucky enough to meet the owner, brought you in beautiful stories from which his love and passion for The Beatles. Even for a Stones fan, this was a wonderful experience. Go and experience is the motto.
