Get there early, i.e. before 9:30. After, it is the landing of the bus to tourists and it kinda spoils the landscape! Around 9: 00, the monkey colony down the mountain. Hundreds! Entry 20 THB

This place is on the main road between Phuket and Krabi. We took a short stop while travelling by car between the two cities. Due to location it's not crowded by tourists. Outside the cave were some 1...  more »

The tour is pretty fast but the immense Buddha inside is worth a visit. The monkeys outside are pretty nice but avoid touching them.

Beautiful cavetemple consisting of two limestonecaves. The first cave housing a beautiful reclinig Buddha - very nice stalactites, stalagmites in the second cave. This is the former Kings Temple of Phang Nga Province located in the district of Takua Thung. A big hord of longtailed macaques is living there - these monkeys are the reason why it is allowed here to keep your shows on. A bit touristy from time to time.

Ignore the (fat) monkeys and tourist vendors and head straight for the cave / temple / Budda statue. Cave atmosphere is pretty good (actually much better than expected) and well worth a stroll. Gets pretty busy post 10am.

A wonderful visit - but avoid the crowds - the inside of the cave was magnificent and it does need to be peaceful

This temple is also on the tours packaged from Khao Lak. Definitely worth a visit. Be sure to venture past the temple area deeper into the cave. Good stalactite and stalagmite formations.

Wished to walk along the cave. But returned in half way as it looked difficult to go further.

Where to stay in Phang Nga

Phang Nga does not offer luxurious resorts and features just a handful of budget and mid-range accommodation choices. If you must stay on the main street, ask for a room in the back, or you probably won't be able to sleep from the music and noise blasting throughout the night. Although generally clean, many of the town's old hotels do not all offer hot water, air conditioning, or dependable Wi-Fi. Mid-range hotels, located away from the main street, provide better accommodations with ocean views.
