Stroll through the impressive ruins of Wat Maha That, at one time an important royal monastery and today a World Heritage Site. Erected around 1374 CE, the complex contained enshrined relics of Buddha and was strategically situated close to the Grand Palace. It served as the seat of the Supreme Patriarch of the City Dwelling sect for many years. Today, significant remnants of the imposing monastery still stand, including brick edifices and stone sculptures, all surrounded by verdant lawns. • I could spend days and days wandering among the ancient ruins and imagining the people who lived and worshiped there in those days.
  • Wat Mahahthat is the Central Temple of the Park. Best, they rent a bicycle to visit the large plant. Then they can use the WAT SI CHUM, right, standing just outside the plant visit. To the photograph which is ideal for early morning, the sun shines forth from the East directly on the fantastic motifs.
