Ko Tachai Island, Similan Islands

Swim and relax on Ko Tachai Island, a gorgeous and untouched paradise surrounded by coral reefs and bright-blue water. Due to its protected state in a national park, the island's reef remains largely undamaged by tourism and still supports large groups of tropical creatures. Do not be surprised to see nurse sharks and eagle rays cruising these waters. When you've swum your fill, relax on the white sand under the shade of rocky outcrops and look for hermit crabs. Climb to the lookout point for great photo ops. Our Similan Islands online holiday planner makes visiting Ko Tachai Island and other Similan Islands attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

  • We went there with Similan Sea Safari during our three-day liveaboard trip. The place was amazing. It’s full of rocks covered in beautiful corals. Currents are a bit strong for me but other divers...  more »
  • It's a really beautiful island. On weekdays, not many people. There are lots of beautiful photography areas. If you open them, when will you go back again?  more »

  • Amazing place. Similan Islands
  • This is a god's place. Legit paradise here, just go experience it yourself.
  • The best destination island of Thailand🏝🐠 (In November)
  • Beautiful islands, great snorkeling but the distance is insane! We stayed in Patong beach and we had to take a 2.5 hour ride and then over an hour speed boat in open ocean...the bot ride was bumpy and not enjoyable. After being on road for over 4 hours you enjoy the island for like 2/3 hours max. It’s a beautiful place but even with the new limit on tourists it felt too busy.
  • Similian Islands located off the coast of Khao Lak in the Andaman Sea is one of the most scenic islands I have visited. It's an ideal place for a day tour with white sand beaches and some great snorkeling spots. I had taken a package from a travel agent in Khao Lak inclusive of pick and drop from hotel to pier, speed boat ride to Similian and back from Khao Lak, snorkeling equipments, lunch and refreshments. You can see turtles only if you are extremely lucky. Similian however attracts a lot of tourists in the recent years (especially large groups) and hence I would suggest you start as early as possible to enjoy some peaceful time at these serene beaches. I had started around 6am in the morning from the hotel and hence you see lesser crowds in some of the photos I have uploaded. Overall I loved the experience. Definite five star if it wasn't for the crowd.
