Koh Samed, Rayong Province
(3.3/5 based on 340+ reviews on the web)
Perfect for a short getaway from Bangkok, Koh Samed has staved off the overwhelming development present on nearby islands and still offers visitors clean sand, unbroken coral reefs, and quiet beaches. However, you will still find plenty of restaurants, accommodations, and shops for convenience. Consider renting a motorbike and exploring the island on your own. Be careful on the tricky Thai roads and remember to take pictures of your bike upon rental in case of scams. • Good alternative to the swim if it is not to compare with similan Islands in pattaya, is Indian Ocean can't be topped

  • Spent two nights on the island after Bangkok. When planning our independent travel, choose Samet Pattaya dirty, Chang far and to Samet 180 km from Bangkok (2400 baht taxi, 2.5 hours to ban PHE Pier). Ferry 70 baht, on the pier of the island 20 baht fee, then took songteo (right from the pier parking lot) for 100 Baht to Sajk'ju beach. Before the entrance to the Beach House, people in uniform gather at 200 baht per person, with us why not taken) Walked on foot along the beach and went almost to the first available hotel, Villa Sajk'ju. For sea view 2000 baht. It is better not to advance book a better view at the place of the room, there is a lot of housing. Quite a decent hotel room in just refurbished chassis. In General, the beach itself is pretty clean, but too many people, mostly Chinese and local, elderly Europeans. For relaxation there are other quiet beaches. In the evening, the Café exhibit tables closer to the water, food everywhere so imagine on 3 +. There are a couple of 7/11. To move around the island can be on songteo, from 100 Baht, the longest Beach 600 per car. There are bikes and electric cars for rent. During the period of mourning, no music, no fire show was not boring. Why then does not remain desire to return, comparing with Pipi Island Don where we go every year from Phuket) But for rest near Bangkok quite come down, although they say in Rayong is not worse and prices below.

  • From Pattaya day tour, ran an hour in the car too (we have extremely scary), passenger ship later again 1 hour. Samet island off the coast of trainsat boat overnight passenger ships. When you ride when you get off the pier was not, is from the feet soaked always will be. The beautiful beach, the sea, or take a NAP in a beach deck massage or in the sea, is situated on anyway. Low transparency or just bad timing, not coral reefs could not see the beautiful tropical fish as the only rock. It may be great points from natural big island snorkel.
