Enjoy the stunning scenery of Promthep Cape, one of the most photographed and widely renowned locations on Phuket Island. The headland rises from the azure waters, covered in a light scrub with a few spindly palm trees. Every evening crowds of tourists pour off buses to watch a spectacular sunset. Nearby a restaurant serves gourmet food against the dramatic backdrop, and a lighthouse provides panoramic views of the island and also houses several historical maritime artifacts. • Cruising destination from Singapore first landed in Phuket and went straight to here. The view from the top of the cliff overlooking the sea was spectacular. It's a sunset view point so next time I want to make a visit together.

  • Make sure you get there in time for sunset. There is a small dirt path that takes you through some brush and if you're adventurous, you can stand on the southern most tip of Phuket where this photo was taken, right by the sea. Be careful though, it can be a rough trek - about 20 minutes or so.
  • Definitely worth the hike down all the way to the bottom. It's an amazingly beautiful place. Out of this world kinda view. Wish i could stay till sunset but l had to catch a flight. If i can, world definitely return for the sunset view.
  • Good viewpoint but nearly always very busy during the day as it's on the tourist trail for many organised tours. There are shops around the parking area where you can buy local goods and food/drink. This is a good stopping point if doing a tour of the south of the island.
  • Nice place to view sunset in Phuket. Good observation points. But the dinner deal is the best to enjoy lovely moments with family and friends.
  • Beautiful spot. Definitely worth a stop on the road. The viewpoint is near the road, not quite this location but there is a somewhat hidden trail on the left leading to the rocky shore. It's steep and slippery but definitely worth the hike.
