Phromthep Cape, Rawai

4.5
#1 of 12 in Nature in Phuket
Enjoy the stunning scenery of Phromthep Cape, one of the most photographed and widely renowned locations on Phuket Island. The headland rises from the azure waters, covered in a light scrub with a few spindly palm trees. Every evening crowds of tourists pour off buses to watch a spectacular sunset. Nearby a restaurant serves gourmet food against the dramatic backdrop, and a lighthouse provides panoramic views of the island and also houses several historical maritime artifacts. • The best is to go on the side of wind or the cars in spilling their streams of tourists to take "the picture" can not stop.

  • Nice sunset. Don't eat at the neighboring restaurant. be surprised by the large amount of tourists. We are brought there in packed busloads. Don't eat anything in the restaurant next door. The lamplights let the restaurant look cozy from the view of the cape. However, when you come to the restaurant you will see the desolate tables and chairs. It's a fury and old. The Chinese/ Thai staff also shout a lot at the customers and each other. Something that negatively influences the atmosphere.
  • Amazing view! We went around noon so the place wasn't too crowded. It's a good place to just sit at and look at the beautiful aquamarine sea. Plus, there are a couple of food stalls nearby.
  • Amazing experience.. Need a little hike down and the route is okay.. But so sandy.. Be careful and enjoy the rest of the time there.
  • Place gets quite crowded, but a lot of tourist and locals come here to see the sunset. There is some parking around and a lot of tourist bus. Some locals have carts that sell food in the vicinity. Off the main roads there is a track which you can walk off and it leads towards the most southern point. You can see a lot of people that go there. Its worth the walk for the view. Many people are sitting on the ledges and waiting for the sunset.
  • Fantastic place and nice view. The viewpoint can get crowded, because lots of tourist buses full of Chinese and Russians stop here, but they all avoid going down to the tip of the cape, where the view is so much better. I stayed for an hour at the tip all alone.

Where to stay in Rawai

A long-established beach resort, Rawai offers eclectic sleeping options along the eastern coast of the peninsula. Head right up to the beach for attractively designed resort hotels, rental condominiums, and spa hotels, charging relatively high prices for their extensive views and easy access to beaches and boat tours. Away from the coastline you can find similar resort-style accommodations, with lower prices and a little more privacy. Other budget-friendly options include rental bungalows and basic hotels.
